The Champlain College Marketing Department is actively looking for a student with strong design and production skills to work with us. We have more work than ever and need a talented, responsible, motivated student to begin as soon as possible. The type of projects we develop range from publications, brochures, postcards and posters, to web and email banners and motion graphics, student orientation materials, digital advertising and direct mail. We design the external face of Champlain College to the world.

Students who have worked with us in the past walk out the door with strong samples for their portfolio and most land design jobs just after graduation, if not before.

General responsibilities of the student graphic designer are to design, layout and prepare marketing material digitally (in InDesign) for publication using Macintosh computer and other technical systems. The student will often take existing jobs and rework them or develop and create original files for a variety of clients on campus. The student will work with the Designer to plan, analyze, and create visual solutions to communications problems – deciding the most effective way of getting a message across in print using photography, color and type. The knowledge and understanding of photography, composition, typography and printing are

important skills to have. They must be able to use a variety of programs including InDesign (full working knowledge required), Photoshop, Illustrator and Google Docs to complete projects. Web design experience is helpful.

• Major in graphic design or other related field

• Attention to detail and accuracy required

• Must be able to work independently if needed
